Story

Dad’s Story ❤️

My dad was more than just my dad — he was my safe place, my protector, my biggest supporter and one of the most important people in my life.

He was a kind, loving and caring man who would do anything for the people he loved. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome in our home, and his sense of humour could make people laugh even when they probably didn’t feel like smiling. He was the sort of person you knew you could always count on, especially when you needed someone to stand beside you.

For me, Dad was always there. I knew that no matter what happened, I could turn to him. He made me feel protected, supported and loved, and I will forever be grateful that I got to call him my dad.

Some of my favourite memories are the little things that might seem ordinary to everyone else, but mean everything to me. Dad was the one who got me into horror films, which eventually became something I loved too. He would take me and my friends to Blockbuster for movie nights, and those are memories I will carry with me forever. Looking back, it wasn’t really about the films — it was about having that time together and the memories we made.

Dad had a way of making people feel comfortable around him. He loved a joke, loved making people laugh and could make our home feel like a place where everyone was welcome. He gave so much of himself to the people around him without ever expecting anything in return.

When Dad became ill, everything changed. Watching someone who had always been so strong go through so much was incredibly difficult. But even through everything he faced, he remained my dad — the person I loved, looked up to and wanted to protect just as much as he had always protected me.

Losing him still doesn’t feel real. There are moments when I expect to hear his voice, see him walk through the door or be able to tell him something about my day. Then reality hits again, and the pain is indescribable.

I would give anything for one more conversation, one more laugh, one more hug and just one more ordinary day with him.

Dad may no longer be here physically, but he will always be a part of me. His love, his memories, his jokes, the lessons he taught me and all the moments we shared will stay with me for the rest of my life.

I am so incredibly proud to be your daughter, Dad.

Thank you for being my dad. Thank you for protecting me, supporting me, making me laugh and loving me unconditionally.

I miss you more than words could ever explain.

Until we meet again, Dad. ❤️

Forever your daughter. 🕊️
