We have so many memories from the toy farm days. Lots of laughter lots of fun when Steve was around. I remember you going for a hack on Gurkha with Rachel on flint and Mike (can’t remember what Mike rode) you all came back hours later. We loved your and Pam’s company and had many nights out. I remember we went to Cathy gardens and got asked to be quiet of course that didn’t happen. Lost touch when the girls grew up but will forever remember you x

He was always quick to have a joke and make me laugh on the odd occasion i saw him, usually picking Kaz and me up from the Edinburgh train. Thats how i will remember him.

I first met Steve at the age of 14 Steve was 17 when we both raced motorcycle scrambling. That was 1975 i think , we raced many year’s climbing through the ranks untili I had a serious injury at the age of 20, .Me and Steve lost contact for over 30 odd years till I started back racing at the age of 52 ,It was like only yesterday when we met up again, that’s the sort of bloke Steve Birchall was an easy going fun to be with true Gentleman and good family man , I went on a motorbike weekend with steve for his 60th birthday i got to meet his brother and other family members, I was honoured to be invited to his 60 birthday party travelling up from stoke on trent, 3 year’s later we went on my 6oth weekend motor biking, whe I had the news of Steve’s illness i did manage to travel up to see him and kept in touch on how Steve’s health was through Pam considering the distance I kept in touch with Steve through phone messaging, until he became too ill. I managed to attend his funeral which I wouldn’t have missed for the world, a great man lost to all who knew him his dry humour cheeky smile and I’m sure missed even more by his lovely family, Steve Birchall a true Gentleman 👍
