Christmas Hamper Prize Draw – Terms and Conditions

1. Promoter

The promoter of this prize draw is St Catherine’s Hospice of Lostock Lane, Lostock Hall, Preston, PR5 5XU

2. Eligibility

2.1 Entry is open to residents of Great Britain aged 18 years or over.

2.2 Entrants must successfully register as a new player of the Hospice Lottery during the promotion period.

2.3 Existing lottery players are not eligible unless expressly stated in promotional materials.

2.4 Employees, trustees, volunteers directly involved in administering the promotion, and their immediate family members may not enter.

2.5 The Hospice reserves the right to verify eligibility and refuse entries where eligibility requirements are not met.

3. Promotion Period

3.1 The promotion opens on Monday 28th September 2026 and closes on Friday 20th November 2026 at 11:59pm.

3.2 Lottery applications received after the closing date will not be entered into the prize draw.

4. How to Enter

4.1 Individuals who become a new Hospice Lottery player during the promotion period will automatically receive one entry into the prize draw.

4.2 No additional action is required.

4.3 Cancelling the lottery before the prize draw date may result in disqualification.

5. The Prize

5.1 The prize consists of one Christmas hamper.

5.2 The contents of the hamper may vary from any images used in promotional material.

5.3 No cash alternative is available.

5.4 The prize is non-transferable and must be accepted as offered.

5.5 The Hospice reserves the right to substitute the prize with one of equivalent value if circumstances outside its control make this necessary.

6. Winner Selection

6.1 One winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries.

6.2 The draw will take place on Friday 18th December 2026.

6.3 The winner will be contacted using the telephone number, email address or postal address held on their lottery account.

6.4 If the winner cannot be contacted within 14 days, or declines the prize, the Hospice reserves the right to draw an alternative winner.

7. Publicity

7.1 The winner may be asked whether they are willing to participate in reasonable publicity relating to the promotion.

7.2 Participation in publicity is voluntary and not a condition of receiving the prize.

7.3 Before publishing the winner’s name, photograph or testimonial in promotional materials or on social media, the Hospice will ask for their separate permission. Refusal will not affect the winner’s entitlement to the prize.

8. Data Protection

8.1 The Hospice will use personal information provided with the lottery application to administer the lottery and prize draw, verify eligibility, select and contact the winner, and arrange delivery of the prize. The Hospice will process this information in accordance with applicable UK data protection law and on the lawful basis or bases described in its Privacy Notice.

8.2 Further information about how the Hospice uses personal information—including its purposes and lawful bases, recipients, retention periods, individual rights, and how to make a data protection complaint—is set out in the Hospice’s Privacy Notice, available at www.stcatherines.co.uk/privacy-policy. The Hospice will handle data protection complaints in accordance with its published complaints procedure and applicable legal requirements.

8.3 The Hospice will not use entrants’ personal information for a purpose that is incompatible with the purposes described above or in its Privacy Notice. Any direct marketing will be carried out separately in accordance with applicable data protection and electronic communications law. Entrants may object to or opt out of direct marketing at any time without affecting their lottery participation or eligibility for the prize draw.

9. Liability

9.1 The Hospice accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully received due to technical issues or circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

9.2 Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.

10. General

10.1 The Hospice reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel the promotion where necessary due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

10.2 By participating in this promotion, entrants are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.

10.3 These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
