Our Shops
With over £4 million to raise this year alone to help towards the running costs of St Catherine’s Hospice, our shops and online trading activities play a vital role in helping us to help patients.

Most of our shops and our online trading rely on donations from members of the public but donated items don’t have to be valuable to be of value to us. Whether its must-have designer or last year’s high street, if it’s still in good condition and could be of use to someone else then we’re happy to take it off your hands and help someone else find a bargain.
You can support our shops by donating to us, buying from us or taking time out to volunteer. It’s one of the simplest ways to help the Hospice, so why not have a clear out or visit us to find a new-to-you treat.
St Catherine’s Hospice now has a total of eleven shops around the Preston, Chorley and Leyland area.
Five of our shops sell good quality clothing, home textiles, bric-a-brac, books and toys at too-good-to-miss prices – and we often receive donations of things that are new or hardly used so it’s worth a good rummage.
We also have two second-hand book shops, which have not only become a haven for avid readers but, as they also stock donated CDs and DVDs, they also offer rich pickings for music lovers and film buffs too.
Our high quality used furniture shop in Preston sells a variety of furniture for both the style and comfort conscious and can be a source of vintage finds.
Meanwhile, at our wedding shop (also in Preston) you’ll find outfits for the bride and groom, bridesmaids and mother of the bride (or groom!), along with hat hire, lovely silver jewellery and a selection of hen night accessories.
If we receive specialist, collectable or valuable items as donations we often opt to sell them online via eBay as stcatherinehospice. We also operate an online shop for the sale of Christmas cards and calendars and provide a mail order service for Christmas cards with personalisation options.
While most of our shops rely on donations, our gift shop in the reception at the Hospice sells a selection of gifts, confectionary and cards and we also operate a coffee bar at Preston Magistrates Court.
