Fundraising Assistant
St Catherine’s Hospice | £24,784.50 FTE (0.7 FTE, 26 hours per week) | Hospice & Community Based
Could you be the friendly face of St Catherine’s in our local community?
Every day, incredible people across Central Lancashire give their time, energy and support to help fund hospice care. Whether they’re organising a fundraiser, attending an event, making a donation or presenting a cheque raised through their community, we want every supporter to feel appreciated, welcome and connected to St Catherine’s Hospice.
We’re looking for a Fundraising Assistant to help make that happen.
This is a hands-on, varied and rewarding role that combines community engagement, event support, supporter care and day-to-day fundraising assistance. You’ll spend time both in the hospice and out in the community, helping to deliver fundraising activities, supporting events and building positive relationships with the people who make our work possible.
Working closely with our Fundraising Team, you’ll provide practical support that helps us maximise fundraising opportunities and deliver an excellent experience for our supporters.
What will you be doing?
No two days are likely to look exactly the same. You could be: – Supporting the delivery of fundraising events, campaigns and community activities. – Attending cheque presentations, community events and corporate activities as a representative of St Catherine’s Hospice. – Preparing event materials, fundraising resources and participant packs. – Helping with event set-up, supporting activities on the day and assisting with pack-down afterwards. – Preparing fundraising materials and helping bring campaigns and initiatives to life. – Managing fundraising buckets and donation boxes, including preparation, distribution and record-keeping. – Making thank-you calls to supporters and donors and helping ensure they receive an excellent experience of supporting the hospice. – Keeping supporter information accurate and up to date on our CRM system. – Helping with a variety of practical fundraising tasks, from preparing charity ball prizes to creating hampers, sweet bags and event materials.
Most importantly, you’ll help create positive experiences for the people who choose to support St Catherine’s and ensure they feel valued every step of the way.
Who are we looking for?
You don’t need previous fundraising experience to be successful in this role.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, getting involved and making things happen. You might have experience in customer service, events, hospitality, retail, administration or community engagement, but most importantly you’ll be enthusiastic, organised and happy to roll up your sleeves and help wherever needed.
You’ll be: – Friendly, approachable and confident when speaking to people. – Comfortable building relationships with supporters, volunteers and members of the public. – Organised, reliable and able to manage a variety of tasks. – Equally happy working independently or as part of a team. – Flexible and willing to support occasional evening and weekend events. – Positive, proactive and ready to get involved.
Experience supporting events, volunteers, community activities or working with a CRM system would be an advantage, but is not essential.
A role where you’ll see the difference you make.
This isn’t a desk-based administration role.
You’ll be out meeting supporters, helping at events, representing the hospice within the community and playing an important part in fundraising activities that help fund local hospice care. From thanking donors to supporting major events, you’ll see first-hand the impact your work has on our supporters and on the patients and families we care for.
The role involves a mix of hospice-based and community-based working, together with occasional evening and weekend work to support fundraising activities and events. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.
If you love meeting people, enjoy being involved in your community and want to use your skills to support a cause that makes a real difference, we’d love to hear from you. Join us and help create outstanding experiences for the supporters who make hospice care possible.
