Bank workers swapped the office for the outdoors

A group of colleagues from Lloyds Banking Group left the office and got their hands dirty in celebration of the incredible power of employee volunteering.
The staff from Lloyds Banking Group, Manchester, helped out with gardening in the grounds of St Catherine’s Hospice as part of Give and Gain Day.
Tasks included fence painting, cutting back ivy, weeding and refreshing flower beds, and general tidying up.
Manager Kerry Bathmaker said: “It was a very good team building exercise for myself and my colleagues out of a normal office environment.
“It is very satisfying to complete a task for a very worthy cause and we all took a lot from it. Visiting The Mill Café was an extra bonus on top!”
The company have supported the hospice on many occasions throughout the year and hope to take part in further events leading from St Catherine’s 30th anniversary, as the firm celebrates their own 250th anniversary.
Kerry added: “The Give and Gain Day is a brilliant scheme. It is all about giving back to the community for us and we all get satisfaction out of knowing that we’ve helped out one way or another.”
