Moonlight Walk Report

The sun continued to shine on this year’s annual Moonlight Walk in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice.
About 1,150 people registered for this years walk which saw two big changes to the usual format.
As we’re celebrating Preston Guild this year we decided to get men a “once in a Preston Guild” opportunity to join their partners, families, friends and work colleagues on the walk if they were accompanied by a “responsible lady”. Over 150 men took part and entered into the spirit of the night in pink T shirts. Some even went as far as to ‘dress’ especially for the occasion! This year also so the introduction of a shorter walk of 8.4 miles which proved popular with nearly 200 walkers.
It was a relaxed, fun and friendly night with £110,000 pledged in sponsorship.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part, to all the walkers, their sponsors and everyone who volunteered to work behind the scenes and ensure that everything ran smoothly.
