Pub hosts family fun day to support St Catherine’s
A family pub pulled out all the stops to host a fantastic family fun day for locals which raised vital funds to support St Catherine’s.
The recently refurbished pub The Beaumont in Clayton-le-Woods hosted the event which included face-painting and a children’s entertainer, as well as free tasty treats for visitors to tuck into.
The celebrations continued into the night with live music from top hillbilly band Baby Driver.
The event was organised to celebrate the fact that The Beaumont has chosen St Catherine’s to be their nominated charity for the year, with further events set to take place and hospice collection boxes placed on the bar.
Suzanne Tench, who runs the pub with her daughter and son-in-law Emily and Daniel McGovern, said: “The Beaumont is a family pub which is part of our local community – we want to celebrate this by joining up with a much-loved local charity to show our support.
“We spoke with the pub regulars about which charity they wanted to adopt and St Catherine’s was the name we kept hearing.
“We’re delighted to be making a contribution towards the valuable work that the hospice does.”
Norman Cutler, senior fundraiser at St Catherine’s, said: “We’re thrilled to have been chosen by The Beaumont as their nominated charity. We simply couldn’t deliver our specialised care for local people without the support of local pubs, clubs and community groups who get behind us and help us raise the funds we need.”
