School boys’ sponsored jog to support St Cath’s
Three schoolboys completed a four-mile sponsored jog around the Preston Guild Wheel route to raise cash for St Catherine’s Hospice.
Memphis Salisbury and brothers Thomas and Luke Brocklehurst raised more than £49 for the hospice from their efforts.
Memphis, nine, Thomas, 12, and Luke, also nine, from Ribbleton, wanted to do something to keep fit over the school summer holidays, whilst also supporting a good cause.
Memphis said: “We were trying to keep fit and healthy by jogging, and then we decided we’d also do something to help St Catherine’s at the same time.
“My granddad was looked after by the hospice so that’s why we wanted to help.”
The boys visited the hospice during their half-term holiday to hand over the money they had raised.
Emma Jacovelli, fundraiser at St Catherine’s, said: “Well done to Memphis, Thomas and Luke for their brilliant efforts completing the four mile sponsored jog.
“We’re all very grateful for their support.”
