Show your support for Hospice Care Week 2013
St Catherine’s Hospice is joining forces with more than 100 hospices across the UK to highlight the giteming need for hospice care during Hospice Care Week.
The annual awareness week – from October 7th to 13th – highlights that as people live longer and with more complex needs, the need for the quality, personalised care that hospices provide is increasing.
The slogan for the awareness-raising week is: Every moment counts. Every action counts. Because you count.
Ahead of and during the week, St Catherine’s is asking local people to take the Count me in! pledge – promising to tell five people why hospice care counts.
St Catherine’s would love to see its supporters taking the pledge in all manner of weird and wonderful places. Pick up a pledge card at the hospice or download here, snap a photo at your favourite location, email it to us at sarah.dunn@stcatherines.co.uk and we’ll display it on our online gallery.
We’re also appealing to you to take the pledge online at wwww.hospicecareweek.org.uk – where you can upload a personal message and photo – and then share it through social media to help spread the word as far as possible.
Lynn Kelly, Head of Education at St Catherine’s Hospice, added: “This Hospice Care Week, we want supporters, patients and volunteers to get involved by helping the voice of St Catherine’s be heard. Please join us and speak out about the vital role your local hospice plays in the community.”
As well as taking the pledge, during the week St Catherine’s would love for people to make a donation towards the £5m it costs to run the hospice each year or find out more about joining their team of amazing volunteers. What could you do?
