Taking the message of hospice care to BBC Breakfast TV
Representatives from St Catherine’s Hospice visited the BBC Breakfast studios to tell the nation about a new campaign aimed at ‘opening up’ hospice care to more people.
Patient Catherine Nelson appeared alongside Chief Executive Stephen Greenhalgh and told presenters Louise Minchin and Dan Walker about the difference hospice care has made to her life.
The appearance came on the back of a new campaign between Hospice UK, St Catherine’s and other local hospices which puts the spotlight on the importance of quality care at the end of life. The #OpenUpHospiceCare initiative was sparked by new analysis from Hospice UK which found that 1 in 4 people who could benefit from this type of care can’t access it.
