Taking to the skies to support St Catherine’s!

Four colleagues from a Preston technology firm took to the skies to show their support for St Catherine’s Hospice and raised more than £2,500!

Jessica Greenwood, Annalese Mitchison, Graham Robinson and Carl Lee, who all work for Zebra Technologies in Fulwood, signed up for the hospice’s skydive and said it was an amazing experience.

Zebra_skydive_1_WEBJessica, whose grandma was cared for by St Catherine’s in 2012, said as soon as she heard about the event she ‘instantly’ wanted to take part.

She said: ” St. Catherine’s is very close to my heart after the wonderful care and support they provided to my family when my grandma lost her very short battle to cancer. St Catherine’s is an amazing local charity that provides such wonderful care I felt they deserved the support for all the tremendous work they do.

” The sky dive experience was amazing and something which I will treasure forever, overcoming my fear and taking part is something I will always be proud of!”

Annalese thanked everyone at Black Knights parachute centre where the jumps took place and added: “The event was advertised through work, and fundraising for cancer care is close to my heart having lost friends and loved ones to the dreadful disease.

Zebra_skydive_2_WEB“The jump was fantastic – you can’t beat the feeling of flying outside the vehicle. Amazing – never has falling down been so uplifting!”

Carl said he was delighted to show his support for an important local charity – and would recommend the experience to anyone.

“St Catherine’s is a great local charity that helps to provide support for conditions that affect everybody in some way,” he said. “For me, having had close family members and friends affected by cancer, it was an ideal choice of charity to raise money for.

” The skydive was amazing, I would recommend it to anybody just to say they have done it and experienced it. The guys at Black Knights were brilliant and made the day so much better.”

And Graham said he was already looking forward to the next time.

He said: “The skydive was truly amazing! It literally took my breath away – hopefully I will get another chance to do it!”
