More than 100 supporters pulled on red suits and white beards to take part in our sponsored Santa Dash around Lostock Hall.
Children under eight also sported reindeer antlers and red noses to complete a half mile Rudolph Rumble around the hospice grounds.
They were set on their way by Mayor of South Ribble Coun Mary Green and first over the finish line in the Santa Dash was Lee Foley.
Among those taking part were the Gilkes family, who wanted to show their support after their mum Lisa was cared for at St Catherine’s earlier this year.
Dad Ben, who took part with children Ned, Tom and Alice as well as other family and friends, said: “St Catherine’s is a very important place to us and we’re determined to do everything we can to show our support for the place which looked after us all so well during Lisa’s time here.
“It costs £5m to run the hospice each year and £3.7m has to be raised through charitable donations – we want to do our bit to help with that, ensuring that others can access the same care that we did.
“We have lots of happy memories of St Catherine’s so it is nice to come back and enjoy events like these. We hope lots of others will come along and join in the fun, helping to raise vital funds for the hospice.”
