Donating to Our Shops

Most of our shops rely on donations from members of the public for their stock and we always need clean, saleable items in good condition that people will want to buy.

Meet One of Our Volunteers!

win-wildingWin Wilding has been a volunteer at the Lostock Hall shop since before it even opened its doors to customers!

She says: “I helped to set the shop up 15 years ago. I’d retired a couple of years earlier but felt I still I had a little more to give – when I saw the advert appealing for volunteers in the paper I thought that sounded like a good idea. I live in the village so I knew it would be very handy and my last job before retiring had been in a shop in Bamber Bridge which seemed helpful.

“I didn’t know much about the hospice when I first started but have to come to get to know more over the years. It is nice to feel that I’m making a contribution to a local charity which does such important work.

“I have made lots of friends through volunteering at the shop and lots of people now know me from there out in the village.

“I’ve watched the shop grow and develop over the years which has been great to see and be part of. It certainly beats sitting at home all day on your own!”
