Volunteers are at the heart of the hospice and play an essential part in enabling us to provide the services we do.
We have an amazing team of more than 600 dedicated supporters who give their time, skills and experience to help the charity in a host of different ways.
From just a couple of hours a week, you too could do something worthwhile and enjoyable by lending a hand at the hospice, in our shops, at The Mill cafe, in our grounds or out in the community to support our important work. Hours are flexible, and it’s a great way to meet new people, develop your skills, and give back to a much-loved local cause.
There’s a wide range of roles available, with something to suit everyone – including working in admin, on reception, serving refreshments on the inpatient unit, befriending in the community, washing up in the kitchens, sorting stock donations for our shops, serving customers in our shops and cafe, driving furniture donation vans, helping out at events or in our gardens, and much more!
We can promise a very rewarding role which makes a real difference to the lives of local people. Not only that, it’s also a very sociable activity which can offer valuable work experience for those beginning a new education or career path. Our friendly staff and volunteers are here to support you every step of the way.
The following areas are where we have more demand at the moment, applications will be forwarded to the appropriate manager for consideration. Please allow a couple of weeks for a response, this may take a little longer during busier periods.
