Tisha Merry 2We recently welcomed Coronation Street star Tisha Merry back to St Catherine’s Hospice for a fun photo-shoot, as she throws her weight behind this year’s Moonlight and Memories Walk.

Not only is she helping to promote the charity’s biggest annual fundraiser this summer, the Preston actress is taking part in the 10-mile trek herself, and has assembled a team of soap star friends to join her and fellow supporters on Saturday, July 1.

Tisha, who played Bistro waitress Steph Britton in Corrie for four years, is taking part in the event with pals Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt), Katie McGylnn (Sinead Tinker), Faye Brookes (Kate Connor), and Bhavna Limbachia (Rana Nazir). She will also be posing for photos and signing autographs for walkers before setting off for the night-time hike at 10pm.

It was lovely to meet Tisha and I’m sure she’ll be a hit with visitors on the night. She’s really keen to spread the word about the important work done at St Catherine’s, after her granddad was cared for here.

Why not sign up and stride out alongside the Corrie girls? Click here or call 01772 629171. Or you can sponsor their efforts here.

There’s also a four-mile family-friendly route, and we’re seeing lots of children and teens registering with their parents, aunties, uncles, brothers, sisters and friends for this very special occasion.

If you don’t fancy walking miles, how about just walking a few strides to help raise funds – although I’ll admit things could get pretty heated! That’s because we’re introducing a brand new Firewalk challenge to this weekend’s Yellow Day Garden Fete on Sunday, June 25!

Hayley EcclesThere are plenty of other attractions lined up for Yellow Day in the grounds of St Catherine’s Park, such as live music performances, including from father and daughter Geno and Hayley Eccles who starred on BBC’s The Voice (pictured), dance displays, garden games, stalls, and inflatables.

And a new pop-up café from our popular social enterprise, The Mill, will be serving ‘A Taste of Afternoon Tea’ and more scrumptious treats!

Our finale of summer fundraisers is the famous Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride on Sunday, July 9.
